Whistlestop Wednesday Book Review: "Surrender the Wind" by Rita Gerlach

As the American Revolution draws to a close, Seth Braxton finds himself in a quandary. Should he return to England, the land of the enemy he just fought, at his sister's plea? Brotherly responsibility turns to sharp concern when Seth arrives in Devonshire to discover his widowed sister grieving the loss of her only son. Seth wants little to do with Ten Width, his new inheritance. He plans to return to America as soon as possible, but finds his heart ensnared by his sister's friend, Juleah. Treachery threatens as a sinister plot unfolds.

Rita Gerlach writes with fine skill and a touch of lyricism. Surrender the Wind gives us romance and adventure couched in history. Although the main character is male, I recommend this book for women who enjoy historical romance and historical fiction.
